His vast expertise is a result of a career in the industry that began in 1967, making him a valuable member of the team. Brian attended Manchester Polytechnic (now MMU) before becoming a Licentiate of the Institution of the Rubber Industry. He then furthered his education by graduating from the Plastics and Rubber Institute. Prior to his role at Eastland Compounding he worked for Avon-Moseley, Manchester, where he specialised in industrial rubber goods, conveyor belts and roller coverings. Brian's outside interests include theatre, watching sport, food and drink and listening to music. tel: 0161 2302 186 bdoyle@eastlandcompounding.com >> Scott Baker Technical Sales Manager Before being promoted to Technical Sales Manager, Scott played an important role in the technical department, overseeing the testing of our compounds and ensuring they are to a consistently high standard. His management qualities and ability to work under pressure are crucial to Eastland Compounding's operations. Scott has been working in the industry since 1994 beginning his career at PianoForte, as a Development/Project Engineer whilst at Burton-Upon-Trent Technical College on day release. Scott furthered his education attending Coventry University where he gained a BEng(Hons) in Polymer Science and Technology. His hobbies include travel, motorcycle sport, walking and general fitness. He began his career working for Vitacom on day release, while studying Science at Oldham College. There he spent one year in their laboratories routinely testing foam, rubber, polyurathanes and latex. Paul then chose to further his education, studying for a HTEC at John Dalton College, Manchester, whilst on day release at the company he still works for now! Paul is a valuable member to the team, his co-ordination skills and wealth of knowledge, being fundamentally paramount to the day to day running of Middleton's Technical Department. Out of work he has a keen interest in Golf, being a member of Brookdale Golf Club. Starting his career as process technician for Russells Rubber Co in 1986 where he has responsible for quality and formulation of mainly EPDM compounds for sponge and solid automotive profile. Mark gained an HNC in polymer technology at Burton Technical College, therefore his experience is invaluable and complements the existing skills in the laboratory. He soon gained promotion to supervisor after gaining experience in every area of the production process. Andy took up a new role as a technician when the sites were merged in 2006 and now specialises in overseeing technical aspects of the production process. He is responsible for sales and technical support in Eastern Europe. He has been working in the rubber compounding industry since 1988 and is fluent in several languages including Czech, Polish, Russian, English and Slovak. Eastland Compounding has pinpointed Eastern Europe as high in potential volumes and opportunites.
